ISLAMABAD: MG JW Automobile Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, a subsidiary of Wafi Energy Holding, to introduce a new range of MG-branded motor oils in Pakistan.
The collaboration marks another milestone in the expansion of Saudi private sector investment in Pakistan’s downstream energy and automotive servicing sectors, following Wafi Energy’s acquisition of Shell Pakistan Limited last year.
Under the agreement, Advanced Synthetic Technology motor oils — 0W-20 SP C5 and 5W-30 SP C3 — will be introduced to cater to the evolving needs of modern engines. According to MG, the new lubricants are engineered to deliver enhanced engine protection, improved fuel efficiency, and optimal performance under diverse driving conditions.
The company stated that the products aim to “redefine engine performance and ensure the highest standards of engine protection, efficiency, and reliability for customers.”
Formerly operating as Shell Pakistan Limited, Wafi Energy Pakistan continues to manage one of the country’s largest fuel retail and lubricants networks. After Shell plc divested its majority stake in 2024, the company was rebranded under Saudi ownership while retaining the marketing of fuels and lubricants under the Shell brand.
Through this partnership, Wafi Energy is set to strengthen its footprint in Pakistan’s automotive after-sales market by leveraging its nationwide retail infrastructure to distribute high-performance synthetic motor oils tailored for modern vehicle engines.
